In the 1990s, she was told by her company's bosses that they didn't promote women. But Deb didn't take no for an answer. She kept pushing forward, and eventually, the all-male leadership team gave her a chance to prove herself. They said she could try being a manager for six months.

Guess what happened? She did an amazing job! She outperformed all the other managers, who were all white men. This incredible achievement earned her a well-deserved promotion, but without the same salary as her male peers.
